Description

An effective cloud security operation can detect, respond to, and recover from active attacks. This module focuses on cloud operations and targets monitoring cloud vulnerabilities, attacks, and threats; assessment and strengthening of security configuration of the cloud; designing a SIEM architecture and performing a site reliability engineering (SRE) test using tools.

Notes

This module is the 5th of the 8 modules forming part of the Micro-credential in Cloud Security.
Completion of optional introductory Modules 1 & 2 grants a
Cloud Security Fundamentals Digital Badge
Completion of core Modules 3-6 grants a micro-credential and a
Cloud Security Practitioner Digital Badge
Completion of core Modules 3-6 and specialization Modules 7-8 focusing on specific technologies and industry sectors grants a
Cloud Security Expert Digital Badge and an Attestation of Completion.
Professionals without prior experience in IT, must complete all 8 modules in order to obtain the Cloud Security Expert Digital Badge
and Attestation of Completion from McGill University’s School of Continuing Studies.

Prerequisite(s) and Corequisite(s)

For participants without prior experience or education background in IT, it is strongly recommended to complete Modules 1 & 2.

If you register for the complete Cloud Security Practitioner Digital Badge, please use reference code McGill-009 when applying for Visées tuition reimbursement program.

Cancellation Policy

A minimum number of registrations is required for this section to be offered. The School reserves the right to cancel any section when a minimum number of registrations has not been reached 7 days prior to the start date. In the event of a cancellation, the module fee will be refunded in full.

All cancellation & substitution requests must be made in writing to pce.scs@mcgill.ca

  • Receive a full refund if your cancellation request is received up to 7 days prior to the start date of the module.

  • Receive a refund minus $50 cancellation fee if your cancellation request is received within 7 days prior to the start date of the module.

  • No Refunds are issued if no written notice is given prior to the start of the module.

Please note that if no notice is given prior to the start of the event(s) and you fail to attend, you will be liable for the full module fee.
