Undergraduate Medical Education - French Language Testing offered by McGill's School of Continuing Studies.

Test results are used to evaluate a student’s current level of language proficiency and are also provided to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences*. Note that students may only take the test once per year and results are only valid for 6 months.

*We would like to remind test-takers that all applicants to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences are subject to the Faculty Code of Conduct, which includes academic integrity.

While Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences students are not required to register for any subsequent School of Continuing Studies' language courses, they are welcome to do so should they wish to improve their level of French.

Topics Covered

The test takes 1 hour and 35 min to complete and consists of four sections: Listening comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension.

Learning Outcomes

Your test result will be ready 1 business day following the end of the placement test period.
When it is ready, we will notify you by email and provide you with instructions on how to retrieve your test result.
Information about course registration will be sent by email.

Notes

Please note that all fees are non-refundable. 

Candidates who plan to apply for admission for Fall 2024 need to take a test within 6 months of their application deadline: i.e. test must be after May 1, 2023 for university level (November 1 deadline), or after September 1, 2023 for CEGEP level (March 1 deadline).
