Description

Classes will provide instruction in listening and speaking at an elementary level. Course content is aimed at helping students enhance and build upon the basic communicative skills required to operate in routine social and work-related contexts. Students will have opportunities to practice with proficient French speakers and receive personalized feedback on their language production.

Topics Covered

Grammatical structures for communication in French; situational vocabulary; pronunciation; communication strategies.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • comprehend a variety of short oral messages in predictable and semi-predictable contexts
  • produce a variety of short oral messages in predictable and semi-predictable contexts
  • ask and answer a variety of questions related to familiar and/or general interest topics
  • use an elementary vocabulary specific to everyday contexts

Students with basic/limited knowledge of French.
