Description

This five-week, self-reflective Study Group will examine “the power of attention” and the notion that digital tools such as AI are designed to colonize and commodify our attention. Together we will begin by exploring computer scientist Yoshua Bengio’s statement on the question of power in the face of accelerated technological developments surrounding AI: “What matters? What can I do?” In preparation, participants are asked to view on YouTube “Artificial Intelligence: The Ultimate Disrupter” (recorded at a public event sponsored by Charles Bronfman, CBC Ideas and McGill University).
