Description

The years 1959-1966 in Quebec witnessed one of the most rapid and profound non-violent turnarounds of a Western society in history. The dramatic changes included the decline of the influence of the Catholic Church, the introduction of a welfare state, changes in the education system and the expanded role of Hydro-Québec. The group will discuss not only what happened in the transformation, but also what the province was like beforehand and the repercussions in the years that followed. Each session will be based on videos (some in French) stimulating round-the table discussion by participants.
