Description

The Indian subcontinent played a significant role in the Silk Road trade. Integrating the already established spice trade with demand in Europe and China for goods produced in India and those that transited through the country were key elements in creating what is now referred to as the Silk Road. Indian advances in science and technology were adopted by the Arab world and medieval Europe. Members are encouraged to do presentations. A list of suggested readings and presentation topics will be circulated before the session begins.
