Description

The Cold War fight against Communism locked the superpowers in global rivalry. The time was filled with spies, traitors, the threat of nuclear war, and issues of freedom and censorship in both history and literature. We will discuss the history (e.g., McCarthyism, Philby, Rosenbergs, Cuba, Vietnam) along with related literature (e.g., Graham Greene, John le Carré, Arthur Miller, Kurt Vonnegut). A list of potential presentation topics will be available upon registration. Please note that this is a participant presentation study group.
