Description

Threats to peace abound. Can history teach us how to achieve peace - or how not to? Join us to explore: (a) lasting peace processes like the Treaty of Montréal (1701), Paris (1763), Congress of Vienna (1815) and Bismarck’s diplomacy; (b) compromised efforts like the Treaty of Versailles (1919), the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire, and potential war-ending agreements in Vietnam and Afghanistan; and (c) the role of peace negotiations, as seen in the Camp David Accords.
