Description

Napoleon, Nelson and Wellington were, each in a different way, giants of their time and historical legends. Their lives were inextricably entwined, almost exclusively through their battles, on land and at sea. However, our interest in them goes far beyond the fighting. They came from very different backgrounds, rose to greatness in varied ways, saw leadership through different lenses, had personalities which were highly individual, were attractive to and attracted by the ladies, and with the exception of Nelson, played major roles in the political life of their countries. While perhaps only Napoleon was a genius, both Nelson and Wellington were extraordinary men, towering above their peers. Extracts from the more important works will be provided in the presentations.
