Personal expressive writing is a simple and powerful self-care tool, freely available to all of us. It promotes healing, stress reduction, personal growth and inner peace. In our grief-averse culture that celebrates positivity over vulnerability, faced as we are with global uncertainty, writing can be a helpful tool that builds resilience. It allows us to give voice to our messy inner lives and our negative emotions. Writing is a way to let go of storylines and memories that keep us stuck so that we can write empowered self-narratives.
