Description

This course is designed for professionals with no previous knowledge of French. Its aim is to help learners acquire and develop their comprehension and expression skills in spoken French at BEGINNER LEVEL. The course includes a systematic study of vocabulary, speech acts, grammatical structures and the French phonetic system corresponding to this level. Activities will be organized and presented within the framework of themes linked to real-life professional situations.

Greetings/alphabet/professions/ questioning/identity/numbers/ time/description of places and objects/weather

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Greet, introduce, introduce themselves
  • Apologize and thank
  • Talk about daily tasks at work
  • Ask for and tell the time
  • Talk about their work schedule

Notes

It is possible to sign a waiver form for this course without doing the Entrance Placement Test if the participant has no knowledge in French. Please contact: language.scs@mcgill.ca
