  1. Identify key components of international legal and institutional frameworks that are relevant to mainstreaming human rights and inclusion in the work of parliaments at the national level – in particular for the advancement of gender equality and women’s empowerment.
  2. Describe and explain the role of parliaments and women’s leadership in implementing UN recommendations and global commitments at the national level and in engaging with related UN mechanisms.
  3. Analyze and integrate relevant UN recommendations in lawmaking, representation, oversight and strategic foresight initiatives of the learner’s national parliament.
  4. Assess and provide a critical view on current challenges, effective practices and the way forward in mainstreaming gender equality and women’s empowerment both in the work and in the institutional development of parliaments – from the perspective of the learner’s specific national context.
  5. Formulate an action plan* aiming to advance national parliamentary practices in implementing UN human rights recommendations and global commitments and in engaging with related UN mechanisms contributing to mainstreaming gender equality and inclusion – while addressing intersectionality.

*Actions plans are individual. However, in the case of participants related to the same parliamentary context at the national level, they would be invited to consult each other to coordinate their action plans and to seek complementarity.
